A much needed lull in the weather activity

Wow! It appears that this week will be very, very nice! There are no severe weather threats expected in the next couple of days, no tropical cyclones are active and there appears that nothing will form in the next couple of days.

 

So, thanks to the boredom of the weather, that's all for now!

Severe weather event likely in the lower Mississippi Valley on New Years' Eve

Most of the eastern United States saw above average temperatures this December 30th, with parts of the Mississippi Valley and southeastern Plains in the 60ºF’s for highs. Slight risk for severe weather in the Deep South today, worst expected to hit Louisiana, Mississippi

The Storm Prediction Center today issued a Slight Risk for severe thunderstorms across parts of the Deep South, including all of Louisiana and Mississippi, as well as parts of far east Texas, southeastern Arkansas, southwestern Tennessee, and western Alabama.  The primary threats today will be straight-line wind damage, the potential for isolated strong tornadoes, and even a flash flooding threat in the eastern sections of the south-...
